This recipe for baked pointed cabbage (also sold as hispi or sweetheart cabbage) with burrata, sage butter and crunchy hazelnuts is a simple but unbeatable way to serve pointed cabbage. The cabbage is baked in the oven until tender and lightly golden, then topped with creamy burrata and a butter sauce with garlic and sage.
The toasted hazelnuts add a welcome crunch and depth of flavour.
The dish makes a beautiful side for dinner all year round – or a vegetarian starter for 4.
A must for cabbage lovers and anyone who enjoys simple, flavourful food.
Baked pointed cabbage is both easy and inexpensive to make, and you can vary the topping as you like. The sage can be swapped for parsley, for example – which also works perfectly as a topping for baked pointed cabbage.
