An easy, flavourful stew with minced beef, vegetables, tomato and cream.
A lovely family dish in the style of a paprika stew – packed with flavour, rich and filling.
This minced beef stew can be served with rice, mash, pasta or boiled potatoes. At home we are particularly fond of rice or mash with it – and the whole family tucks in happily.
You can also add chunks of potato to the dish and cook it as a one-pot meal. If you do, add more stock as you go until you reach the consistency you want – the starch from the potatoes will thicken the dish.
The sauce in this beef stew is made with chopped tomatoes, stock and a little cream – if you would like it thicker, you can stir in a little sauce thickener or a cornflour slurry at the end.
I hope you feel like trying my recipe for paprika stew with minced beef – you will find it below.
Paprika Stew with Minced Beef – Beef Stew with Vegetables
Ingredients
- 500 g minced beef
- 100 g bacon, diced
- 1 onion, roughly chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, grated or crushed
- 200 g mushrooms, quartered
- 1-2 peppers, diced
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 1 tin chopped tomatoes or polpa (finely crushed tomatoes)
- 200 ml beef stock
- 250 ml cream whipping cream (38% fat) or cooking cream
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper
- Oil
To serve
- Rice, pasta, mash or boiled potatoes
Method
- Heat a splash of oil in a large pan and brown the minced beef well. Season with salt and pepper.
- Push the meat to one side and fry the bacon until lightly golden – it should not be crisp.*If you like, you can move the pan slightly off the burner so that only the part with the bacon is over the heat.
- Add the mushrooms and let them fry with the bacon for a further 2-4 minutes, then stir in the onion and garlic and mix everything together well.
- Add the carrots, herbs and paprika – give it a quick stir, then add the peppers, chopped tomatoes, stock and cream.
- Stir everything together well and let the sauce simmer gently for about 10 minutes.Meanwhile, cook your rice, pasta or chosen accompaniment.
- Season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper and serve as you like.

Kan man erstatte fløde med noget andet ?
Hej Annette
