Fried Padrón peppers with garlic and chilli – a lovely, easy tapas dish that comes together in no time.
Padrón peppers are a type of sweet pepper, so they are mild in flavour. That also means you can happily eat the seeds without setting your mouth on fire – but do as you prefer.
Adjust the amount of chilli flakes to taste. In my experience there is a huge difference in the heat of chilli flakes. With some varieties you need no more than 1/4 tsp, with others perhaps a whole tsp – so adjust to your own palate and the strength of your chilli flakes.
Serve them as part of a tapas spread, as a side with dinner, or simply as a snack with a beer or a glass of wine.
They taste wonderful and make a perfect little bite.
