Flæskesteg i Airfryer - Opskrift på flæskesteg i Airfryer

Danish Roast Pork (Flæskesteg) in the Air Fryer

Danish roast pork (flæskesteg) cooked in the air fryer – very easy, minimal washing up and perfectly cooked roast pork every time.
Juicy roast pork with crisp crackling, cooked in the air fryer – it really doesn’t get any easier.
I have cooked quite a few of these roasts in my air fryer by now, and it has never gone wrong. Always the juiciest meat and the crispest crackling.
Imagine being able to cook the roast pork for Christmas Eve knowing you are guaranteed an excellent result – no worrying about whether the crackling is soft, the meat dry or the like.
Follow the steps in the recipe and you are 99.9% sure of a juicy, flavourful roast pork with crisp crackling.
Even when cooking roast pork in the air fryer, I still recommend using a meat thermometer – that way you are sure of the best result. Different air fryers do not heat in the same way, and the size of the joint naturally plays a part too.
So put a meat thermometer in the roast and check the temperature after a good 50-60 minutes. If the crackling is crisp, continue cooking until the roast is done; if it is soft, you can turn the heat up to 200°C once the meat reaches about 60°C, or for the last 5-10 minutes of the cooking time.

Method

  • Rub the rind of the pork loin with the salt, making sure it gets well down into the scores too, then tuck the bay leaves down into the scores.
*It is important that the rind is scored right through, but without cutting into the meat. If you cut into the meat, the crackling can be hard to get crisp, as meat juices will rise up into the rind and make it soft.
  • Place the roast in the air fryer basket, and if needed put a little scrunched-up foil underneath so the joint lies as level as possible – the rind should ideally sit at the same height all over.
Feel free to add a little water to the bottom if you want to make gravy, but don’t let it come up and touch the roast.
*Check that your air fryer can take aluminium foil.
  • Cook the roast for about 60-70 minutes at 180°C, checking on it a couple of times along the way. It should come out when the core temperature is about 63-65°C.
*Ideally insert a meat thermometer into the roast from the start, so you can keep an eye on the temperature as it cooks. Otherwise, check the core temperature after about 50 minutes.
  • If the crackling is not yet crisp when the roast is at about 60°C, or after about 60 minutes, you can turn the heat up to 200°C for the last few minutes.
I have never needed to; 70 minutes has been right every time. Perfectly juicy roast pork and crisp crackling – but it naturally depends on your air fryer.
  • Let the roast rest for about 15-20 minutes before carving.

Hejsa….

    Tak for hjælpen.

    • Hej Sys

Men nogle firmaer anbefaler at opvarme airfryeren først.

      Warm wishes, Dianna

Men tak for din anmeldelse 🙂
