This pasta salad with chilli dressing is just the recipe for when you need something fresh, crisp and full of flavour. The salad is packed with colour and taste – tossed with a mild, creamy dressing. It is full of vegetables such as sweetcorn, peas, crunchy pepper, red onion and cucumber, along with crisp-fried bacon and creamy feta or Greek-style salad cheese.
It is the ideal choice both as a filling main-course salad and as a delicious side for your barbecue spread.
This pasta salad is not only delicious and easy to make, but practical too. You can easily prepare it in advance and let it rest in the fridge so the flavours have time to come together. Leftovers are also excellent for lunch the next day or packed into a lunchbox, which makes this pasta salad a real everyday hero in the kitchen.

Creamy pasta salad with chilli dressing
Ingredients
- 200 g bacon, diced
- 300 g pasta
- 175 g frozen peas, defrosted
- 140 g sweetcorn
- 1/2 cucumber, diced
- 1 red pepper, diced
- 1 small red onion, cut into thin strips
- 150 g feta or Greek-style salad cheese, cut into cubes
Chilli dressing
- 300 ml crème fraîche
- 100 ml mayonnaise
- 2 1/2 tbsp ketchup
- 1/2-1 tsp chilli sauce – I use Chu Chum
- 1 tsp mild chilli powder (or paprika)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
Method
- Fry the bacon until crisp, then leave it to cool on a piece of kitchen paper.
- Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions, then rinse it under cold water until it is completely cooled. Leave it to drain in a sieve.
- Mix the ingredients for the dressing and season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper. If you would like the dressing spicier, simply add a little more chilli sauce.
- Combine the pasta, bacon and vegetables in a large bowl and toss well with the dressing.
- Finally, add the feta and fold it in gently so it doesn’t crumble.Serve straight away, or keep the pasta salad in the fridge until ready to serve.
