A fresh, light cocktail made with Lillet, – a wine aperitif that is mild in both flavour and alcohol content.
Wild Berry Lillet has a lovely freshness and sweetness, – and if, like me, you prefer it with a touch of acidity, I warmly recommend a little freshly squeezed lime juice. You can leave it out, though.
And if you want it to have a little kick, – it can easily be spiced up with a splash of vodka;-)
Wild Berry Lillet, – the name is perhaps a little misleading, as it comes from the soft drink the original calls for, namely Schweppes Wild Berry. That one is impossible to get hold of here in Denmark, – you have to pop over to Germany for it 😉
I have therefore replaced it with another excellent one of its kind, – Fever-Tree Raspberry and Rhubarb Tonic. It goes beautifully with the Lillet Blanc and the fresh berries. In general I am a huge fan of Fever-Tree’s soft drinks and mixers, – such lovely flavours.
But if you do find yourself in Germany, do grab a Schweppes Wild Berry to bring home, – then you can serve an original Wild Berry Lillet 😉
Wild Berry Lillet

- 1/2-1 lime, juiced*
- Fresh berries and mint (optional)
- Ice cubes
Method
- Divide a handful of ice cubes between 2 glasses along with a few mixed berries, – strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and/or blackberries.
- Pour over the Lillet, tonic and lime juice and serve immediately, – top with mint if you like.*If you prefer sweeter drinks you can leave out the lime juice, – personally I think the lime gives the drink a lovely fresh lift.
