A lovely piece of smørrebrød (open-faced rye bread sandwich) with panko-crusted Greenland halibut (hellefisk) – a different take on the classic plaice. We served it with homemade coarsely chopped pickles (Danish sweet mustard pickle, similar to piccalilli) stirred into mayonnaise, but you can of course also serve it with ordinary Danish remoulade (the sweet, pickle-based kind), mayo or whatever you prefer.
