A wonderful pasta salad with broccoli and bacon – a classic broccoli salad with a twist.
I love broccoli salad and I love pasta salad, so naturally the two had to be combined, and this salad is the result.
The broccoli pasta salad is made the classic way, with the lovely creamy dressing from broccoli salad. It is fresh and crunchy, and tastes simply wonderful.
Broccoli salad with pasta is a natural side for anything off the barbecue, but it is also very good with a roast chicken, a crisp roast pork with crackling (ribbensteg) or a piece of salmon.
Broccoli pasta salad also holds up really well in a packed lunch, or simply as an easy main-course salad.
I love substantial salads – salads with crunch, preferably some kind of carbohydrate and plenty of dressing. This broccoli pasta salad has it all, which is probably why I’m so fond of it.
I hope you’ll try my recipe for this lovely pasta salad with broccoli – you’ll find it below.
Broccoli pasta salad
Ingredients
- 200 g pasta – uncooked weight
- 1 head of broccoli
- 200 g bacon, diced
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 60 g dried cranberries or raisins
- 30 g sunflower seeds
Dressing for the broccoli pasta salad
- 300 ml crème fraîche
- 100 ml mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 1/2 tsp sugar
- Salt and pepper
Method
- Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions, then rinse it in plenty of cold water.Drain it thoroughly in a sieve.
- Pour boiling water over the broccoli, then rinse it in plenty of cold water. Cut it into small bite-sized florets and leave them to dry on a tea towel. You can also let the broccoli sit in the boiling water for a few minutes if you prefer it slightly cooked. Then rinse in cold water and leave the florets to dry completely on a tea towel.
- Fry the bacon until crisp and leave it to cool on kitchen paper.
- Mix the ingredients for the dressing and season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Toss the dressing with the remaining ingredients – pasta, broccoli, bacon, red onion, cranberries or raisins and the sunflower seeds.
- Stir well and keep the pasta salad in the fridge until it is time to serve.

Hi There
So happy that you like it 🙂
As a sidedish, this portion is enough – if you serve it with other side dishes.
The 200 gram is uncooked weight 🙂
