Blommechutney med vanilje og ingefær - Opskrift på blommemarmelade

Plum chutney with ginger and vanilla

An easy chutney made with plums and spiced with ginger and vanilla. Lovely with a cheese board or on a bread roll in the morning.
I was lucky enough to be given a big bowl of plums by our kind neighbours – and the ones our eldest daughter didn’t manage to eat went into this batch.
You can use any kind of plums, by the way – some may need to cook a little longer if the flesh is very firm.

Method

  • Rinse the plums thoroughly and cut them into small dice, discarding the stones.
  • Halve the vanilla pod lengthways, scrape out the seeds and mix them with a little of the sugar.
  • Put the plums, sugar, ginger, apple cider vinegar, vanilla seeds and the empty vanilla pod in a saucepan.
  • Bring to the boil, then simmer over a medium heat for about 15-20 minutes, until the plums are tender and the juices have reduced. The chutney should be neither too thin nor too thick.
  • Remove the empty vanilla pod and pour the chutney into a scalded, sterilised jar (rinsed with Atamon, a Danish liquid preservative, if you like), then store in the fridge.

Jeg puttede chiliflager og snack-peber i tern i.

  2. Birgitte

Jeg brugte ca 50 g farin og 100 g syltesukker. Så skal det ikke koge så længe for at tykne.

  3. Henriette

    Kan man bruge frosne blommer?

  4. Morten

Brugte 150gr sukker(75 gr rørsukker og 75 gr brun farin) til 500gr blommer + 1 syrligt æble og 1 pære.
Farinen giver en fin pikant smag.
