Oven-baked pork chops in creamy paprika sauce are a true family favourite, and they are both quick and easy to make.
With tender pork chops and a rich paprika sauce made with bacon, fried mushrooms, red pepper and cream, this dish soon becomes a classic at the dinner table. The paprika gives the sauce its characteristic warmth and flavour, while the cream makes it beautifully smooth – a combination that goes down well with grown-ups and children alike.
The dish is ready in about half an hour, which makes it ideal for weeknights when dinner needs to be easy but still taste of something.
Serve the baked pork chops with boiled rice, potatoes, mashed potato or pasta. And do make sure to save the last of the sauce – it is lovely tossed through pasta for lunch the next day.
A dish that suits any occasion and always tastes wonderful.
Oven-baked pork chops in paprika sauce
Ingredients
Pork chops
- 4-6 tbsp plain flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 4 pork chops, approx. 160 g each
- 50 g butter
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
Sauce
- 150 g bacon, diced
- 300 g button mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, cut into strips
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp sweet paprika
- 2 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 red pepper, cut into thin strips
- 250 ml chicken stock
- 250 ml whipping cream (38% fat) or cooking cream
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
To serve
- Mashed potato, rice or boiled potatoes
- Finely chopped parsley
Method
- Mix the flour and paprika and season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Turn the pork chops in the mixture to coat them.
- Melt the butter with the oil in a frying pan, let it foam up well, then brown the pork chops on both sides for about a minute over a high heat. Set them aside in an ovenproof dish.
- In the same pan, fry the bacon until lightly golden, then add the mushrooms and brown them too.
- Add the onion and garlic and fry until the onion is translucent, then sprinkle over the paprika.
- Add the tomato purée and cook it through for about a minute, then add the red pepper, stock and cream. Let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes, then season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.
- Spoon a little of the sauce into the bottom of an ovenproof dish, lay the pork chops on top and spread the rest of the sauce over them.
- Cook in a preheated oven at 200°C, conventional (top and bottom heat), for about 15 minutes. The cooking time varies depending on the thickness of the meat and how long you browned the chops for.
- Top with chopped parsley before serving, and serve with rice, pasta or potatoes.
Tak for dine gode opskrifter
Hej Birgit
Warm wishes, Dianna
Shit det smager godt, den sauce der⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hejsa
Eeeej tak altså – så dejligt at høre 🙂
Warm wishes, Dianna
Hej.
Warm wishes, Dianna
