I honestly don’t know what to call these, but I can promise you they taste wonderful. We serve them alongside meat, in a burger, with cheese and so on – they go with a great many things.
The flavour is sweet with a good hint of chilli, – how hot you make them is of course up to you, but they need a little edge so they don’t become too sweet.
The syrup can be slightly thick, not jelly-like, but it should be firm enough that it doesn’t run too much, – though that is also a matter of taste.
