Homemade slushie made from freeze-at-home ice pops and water – dead easy and a huge hit with the little ones.
At our house the kids LOVE slushies, and our eldest makes them all the time for herself, her little sister and her friends.
It really is easy – all you need is a few freeze-at-home ice pops, a little water and, if you like, some food colouring.
Tip everything into a blender or mini chopper and blend until you have a soft slushie, adding water as needed. The ice pops, especially Sun Lolly, can easily take 100–150 ml of water to 5 pops without it affecting the flavour in any way.
Serve in glasses with a straw or a spoon, and perhaps some fresh fruit or berries on the rim.
Slushie shots
When I was young – I mean really young 😉 – my cousin and I always made slushie shots when we got together. Plenty of freeze-at-home ice pops, blended with rum or vodka.
It’s actually been many years since I last made a batch of those shots, but they do taste very good indeed.
For slushie shots you swap the water for vodka – or just some of the water, that’s up to you 🙂
Same method, but serve in shot glasses. Cheers 🙂
Homemade slushie
Ingredients
- 5 freeze-at-home ice pops – Sun Lolly or similar
- 100 ml water – or fizzy drink
- Food colouring (optional)
Method
- Put the ice pops in a blender or mini chopper, add 50 ml of water and blend to a soft slushie. Add the rest of the water if needed.Push the ice down a couple of times as you go and give the blender a gentle shake if necessary – it depends a little on the blender you are using.*If the slushie is clear and you would like it a different colour, add a little food colouring.
- Divide the slushie between 2 glasses and serve straight away with a spoon or a straw.
Kan man lave det til 20 man 1/2 time før og sætte det i fryseren?
Hej Kristina
Det tænker jeg absolut sagtens du kan gøre ja 🙂
