Frozen Astronaut cocktail

Astronaut drink, – the name probably says it all: it tastes just like the Danish Astronaut ice lolly, the grape one with the gummy bear on top.
The frozen Astronaut drink is made with grape freeze pops (freeze-at-home ice pops), gin and lime, – you can also make it with vodka if you prefer, and the lime can be swapped for lemon.
Astronaut drink, – of course it also had to take a trip through my blender and be turned into a frozen version. It is so good, – and it really does look quite a lot like the ice lolly, doesn’t it? 🙂

Ingredients

• ▢ 5-6 grape (or ‘Sport’ flavour) freeze pops (freeze-at-home ice pops)
• ▢ 7 cl gin (or vodka)
• ▢ 3 cl fresh lime juice (or lemon juice)
• ▢ 2 tbsp grenadine
• ▢ gummy bears, to decorate

Method

• Put the freeze pops in a blender or mini chopper, – add the gin and lime juice, and blend to a soft slush.

  Push the ice down a couple of times along the way and give the blender a gentle shake if needed.
• Pour a tablespoon of grenadine into the bottom of each of 2 glasses, and divide the Astronaut drink between them. Top with gummy bears and a straw, and a little mint if you like.

  Serve straight away.
