Creamy pasta with bacon and lemon – an easy weeknight dinner.
Sometimes the simplest things really are the best. This pasta with cream, bacon and lemon is exactly that – simple in both flavour and appearance, yet full of comfort and indulgence.
The sauce is mild and creamy, made with cream and lemon, which lifts the whole dish with a bright touch of acidity. Crisp-fried bacon adds a salty, crunchy contrast, and together with your favourite pasta you have a weeknight dinner that has everyone coming back for seconds – and is ready in under 30 minutes.
It calls for only a few ingredients and is perfect for busy days when dinner needs to be quick but still home-made and comforting. Serve it with freshly ground pepper and a little Parmesan on top as a finishing touch.

- 200 g bacon, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 150 ml whipping cream (38% fat)
- 1 lemon, finely grated zest
- 80 g Parmesan, finely grated
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 2 handfuls spinach

Method
- Fry the bacon in a frying pan with a little oil until crisp. Season with freshly ground pepper and set aside.Meanwhile, bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and cook the pasta until al dente.
- In the same frying pan, sauté the garlic for a couple of minutes, then stir in the cream, lemon zest and Parmesan. Heat the sauce through and add a splash of the pasta cooking water. Season to taste with freshly squeezed lemon juice, salt and freshly ground pepper.
- Stir the spinach and bacon through the sauce and cook until the spinach wilts, then toss the pasta and basil through the sauce.
- Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper and adjust the consistency with more pasta cooking water if needed – or let it simmer briefly until the sauce thickens and clings to the pasta.
