Brødcroutoner i Airfryer - Opskrift på croutoner i Airfryer

Air Fryer Croutons

Crisp, golden bread croutons made in the air fryer.
It takes no time at all to make a batch of croutons in the air fryer, and the result is wonderfully crisp croutons.
Use a day-old loaf if you have one, and season with whatever herbs and spices you like.
The cooking time varies depending on which bread you use for your croutons and how large you cut them. If you are using a standard sliced white loaf, start with 7-8 minutes and then check how they look. A denser, more rustic white loaf will need around 10-14 minutes. But keep an eye on them along the way, and give the basket a shake once during cooking.
Air fryer croutons are an easy and tasty way to use up leftover bread, and a batch of croutons is lovely on salads, with soups or simply as a snack.

Method

  • Cut the bread into cubes of the size you want – about 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 cm.
  • Toss the bread with the oil, season with salt and the herbs and spices you like, and mix well so every cube is coated.
I usually use dried parsley and garlic powder, perhaps a pinch of cayenne or similar. It depends a little on what the croutons are going to be served with.
  • Tip the bread into your air fryer basket and cook for about 10-14 minutes at 180°C. Shake the basket once during cooking.
Check after 8 minutes to see how they look – air fryers vary a great deal in how fiercely they heat, and the time naturally also depends on the size of the croutons.
  • Tip the croutons out onto a sheet of baking paper and let them cool before scattering them over your soup or salad – or pack them into an airtight container or bag.
The croutons stay crisp and tasty for several days in an airtight container.
