Along the Swedish coast, just 20 minutes from Malmö, you’ll find Lomma Beach.
A wonderfully cosy harbour that we visited for the first time in the summer of 2023.
We moored in the canal, close to a little ice cream shop, Lomme Glassfabrik, with several restaurants right next door.
The place is brimming with holiday atmosphere: a lovely, lively harbour setting with plenty of restaurants, a great vibe and beautiful scenery.
We were only there for a couple of days, so we didn’t get to see nearly as much of Lomme as we would have liked, but we will 100% be going back.
Lomme Beach has a truly beautiful beach. It’s covered in the finest sand, with grassy dunes behind it. The beach is long and open, and at the far end you’ll find a charming little café, Lomme Beach House.
Besides plenty of restaurants, the town also has a range of shops, all within walking distance of the harbour and the canal.
One thing to be aware of if you arrive by boat is the location of the shower and toilet facilities.
If you moor in the canal on the side furthest from the harbour and closest to the beach, you actually have to walk the whole way along the canal, across a bridge and back along the canal on the other side to reach the facilities.
I think it was a good kilometre each way, so if walking is difficult for you, I’d recommend mooring in the harbour itself, or on the opposite side of the canal, so you’re on the harbour side.
Bike hire is available, and we also saw several people who had brought inflatable dinghies so they could cross from one side of the canal to the other.
There are a great many restaurants in Lomma Beach, some right next to and close by the harbour, and others a little further away.
