Ribbenstegt i Airfryer - Saftig og sprød ribbensteg i Airfryer

Air fryer pork belly (ribbensteg)

Juicy pork belly roast (ribbensteg) with crisp crackling – cooked in the air fryer. Very easy, and always with the best result.
I love cooking both Danish roast pork (flæskesteg) and pork belly in my air fryer – the result is always a juicy roast with the crispest crackling.
Whether you serve your pork belly the classic way with brown gravy and potatoes, in a burger, on a slice of Danish rye bread (rugbrød) or with a fresh cabbage salad, it is a remarkably easy cut of meat to cook.
You can keep the seasoning neutral and leave out the bay leaves, for example – I find that makes it feel less Christmassy.
Crisp pork belly with a fresh cabbage salad with apples and an ice-cold dressing is a real treat, and a lovely, different way of serving ribbensteg.

Method

  • Score the rind thoroughly, without cutting down into the meat.
If you cut into the meat, it can be hard to get the crackling crisp, as meat juices will rise up to the rind and make it soft.
  • Rub the pork belly and the rind with salt, making sure it gets well down into the cuts in the rind too.
Season with freshly ground pepper if you like, and tuck bay leaves into the cuts in the rind if you wish.
  • Pour 100-200 ml of water into the base of your air fryer and place the joint in the basket.
If the joint is uneven, prop it up with a little foil, a carrot or similar. It should lie as level as possible for the best result.
  • Cook the pork belly for about 45 minutes at 180°C, then turn up to 200°C and give it a further 15-20 minutes.
  • Let the pork belly rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

    Hej Dianna
Har du skrevet et sted om hvilken airfryer du har?
Har du en eller to skuffer?
    Bh Bettina

    • Hej Bettina
