Our first stop was Mølle Hamn. A couple we are friends with have been there several times and recommended we give it a try – and what a lovely, welcoming place it turned out to be.
On the day we arrived we were incredibly lucky with the weather – a light breeze, 28 degrees, sunshine and full-on summer. The next few days were genuinely cold, windy and wet, but we made the best of it, and it was still wonderfully cosy.
There is also a hotel on the harbour with its own restaurant, and if you look a little way up the slope you will see the hotel where our friends usually stay – Grand Hotel in Mölle. We have not stayed there ourselves, but by all accounts it is very charming, with lovely food and a fantastic view.
The harbour has several restaurants, excellent facilities for swimming and simply a really pleasant atmosphere.
If you moor at Mølle Hamn by boat, be aware that it is a long way to the nearest shop. The closest supermarket is 10 km away, so unless you have brought good walking shoes and perhaps a small trolley, it is a good idea to stock up on water and so on before you arrive.
