A frozen take on the Isbjørn (Danish ‘Polar Bear’) cocktail – an old classic from my “younger days” 😉
This version is made with grape freeze-at-home ice pops, vodka, lime and blue curaçao – but if you have another kind of freeze-at-home ice pop in a “sports” flavour in the freezer, just use those.
To cut through the sweetness of the Isbjørn, I add freshly squeezed lime juice – it really is the finishing touch.
Serve your frozen Isbjørn in 2 small cocktail glasses, or serve it as shots.
Slushie cocktails are hard to beat on a hot summer’s day.
Frozen Isbjørn (Danish ‘Polar Bear’) cocktail
Ingredients
- 5-6 grape freeze-at-home ice pops – I use Sun Lolly
- 8 cl vodka 80 ml
- 2 cl lime juice 20 ml, freshly squeezed
- 3 cl blue curaçao 30 ml
Method
- Put the ice pops in a blender or mini chopper with the vodka, lime juice and blue curaçao, and blend to a soft slush.*Another kind of freeze-at-home ice pop, e.g. in a "sports" flavour, works just as well.
- Divide your frozen Isbjørn between 2 glasses, garnish with lime and serve with straws.
