Crispy TikTok tortilla wrap with pulled chicken – comfort food with plenty of flavour and crunch.
These crispy tortilla crunch wraps with pulled chicken are the kind of comfort food you simply can’t get enough of. Tortillas filled with spiced pulled chicken, melted cheddar and fresh vegetables – folded up and fried until crisp in a pan or a panini press.
The recipe is inspired by the folding technique that went viral on TikTok: you make a single cut into the tortilla, spread the filling over the four “quadrants” and then fold it neatly into a triangle – ready to be fried until golden and crisp.
You can make the chicken in two ways, depending on how much time you have:
The slow version in the oven gives you wonderfully juicy, flavourful pulled chicken – but if it needs to be a little quicker, you can poach the chicken, pull it apart and flash-fry it with the seasoning. Both taste great – and you’ll find both methods in the recipe below.
And the filling? That’s entirely up to you! This recipe is one tasty suggestion, but use exactly the vegetables, cheese and spice you like – that’s what makes it extra fun and personal.
If you’d like to make the dish a little more filling, serve it with a hearty salad with seeds and dressing, or a portion of crispy fries on the side. It works beautifully and makes the meal just right for weeknights and weekends alike.

Tips for the best crispy tortilla – TikTok tortilla wrap
- Use whichever vegetables you prefer – lettuce, spinach, cucumber, red onion… anything goes!
- Choose the method to suit your time – oven-cooked for extra juiciness, or the quick stovetop version.
- Experiment with other cheeses – try mozzarella, Gouda or a spicy cheddar, for example.
- Add a little extra heat – pickled jalapeños or hot sauce, for example.
- Fry them until crisp in a pan or in a panini press – both give a good crunch.

Pulled chicken – the slow oven method

- Cover the dish with foil and place it in a preheated conventional oven (top and bottom heat) at 130°C, and cook for 3 hours.
- Then pull the meat apart with 2 forks and mix it with the juices the chicken has released into the dish during cooking.Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.
Pulled chicken – the quick method
- Poach the chicken breasts in lightly salted water for about 10 minutes.
- Place them on a chopping board and pull the meat apart with 2 forks.
- Heat a frying pan with a splash of oil, then add the meat and the taco seasoning. Fry the meat for 4-5 minutes and season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.

- Make a cut from the edge to the centre of each tortilla.
- Spread the filling – pulled chicken, cheese, vegetables and tortilla chips – over "the 4 sections/quarters", then fold the tortilla clockwise. (See how in the video above the recipe)
- Fry them until crisp in a little oil in a frying pan, or place them in a panini press and cook until they are heated through and the cheese has melted.
- Serve them topped with cold crème fraîche, salsa and guacamole, for example – and with crispy tortilla chips, fries or a green salad.
