An easy recipe for Thousand Island dressing – a creamy tomato dressing with dill, pickled gherkins, mayonnaise and lemon.
Thousand Island dressing is wonderful with a classic prawn cocktail, on a stjerneskud (the Danish open-faced sandwich of fried and steamed fish with prawns), in pitta bread or with summer salads.
The flavour is fresh and bright, and it goes perfectly with fish and shellfish, but also with white meat. Try it with a piece of pan-fried chicken or in a chicken burger.
Homemade Thousand Island tastes wonderful, and it simply cannot be compared with the shop-bought kind.
Try my recipe for Thousand Island dressing. It is rich and creamy, and I would almost venture to say that once you have tried this one, you won’t be buying ready-made again.
Thousand Island dressing keeps well in the fridge for 4-5 days, provided all the ingredients used are fresh and within their best-before date.
Lidt for meget dijon, syntes den er for gennemtrækkende, evt tilføj lidt sukker/honning.
Hej Conner
Tak for feedback 🙂
Synes ikke selv den er gennemtrængende overhovedet, men dit fif er hermed givet videre:)
Warm wishes, Dianna
