When dinner needs to be both quick and delicious, this spaghetti with parmesan sauce and salmon is a perfect choice. Pasta with parmesan sauce and salmon is incredibly simple to make and takes just 20 minutes from start to finish – yet the flavour is nothing short of superb.
While the pasta cooks, the creamy parmesan sauce comes together in the pan with garlic, cream, lemon and plenty of parmesan, which gives it a lovely depth. Once the pasta is ready, it goes straight into the sauce along with chives and small cubes of fresh salmon. The heat from the sauce and the pasta cooks the salmon perfectly – juicy, tender and full of flavour, without it drying out.

Spaghetti with Parmesan Sauce and Salmon
Ingredients
- 4-500 g spaghetti
- 25 g butter
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 250 ml whipping cream (38% fat)
- 1 lemon, finely grated zest and juice
- 80 g parmesan, finely grated
- 1 bunch chives, finely chopped
- 250 g fresh salmon, cut into small cubes
- Pasta cooking water
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
Method
- Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and cook the pasta until al dente.Meanwhile, start on the sauce.
- Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the garlic for a couple of minutes.
- Add the cream, finely grated lemon zest, lemon juice and parmesan, pour in a little of the pasta cooking water too, season with freshly ground pepper and let the sauce simmer gently while the pasta finishes cooking.
- Stir the chives into the sauce, then add the pasta and the salmon cubes. Toss well, and turn the heat up slightly if needed so the salmon gets a little more heat.
- At the same time, adjust the consistency with pasta cooking water, and keep tossing until the sauce thickens and clings to the pasta.
- Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper before serving, and top with a few extra chives, a little parmesan or more freshly ground pepper if you like.
