Sprøde bønnefritter med bang bang chilisauce – Nemt tilbehør

Crispy green bean fries with bang bang chilli sauce

These crispy green bean fries with bang bang chilli sauce are the perfect combination of crisp, creamy and gently spicy.
The bean fries make a healthy snack or a lovely alternative to classic chips – some turn completely crisp, while others stay slightly soft, just like McDonald’s fries.

Topped with a creamy, sweet and spicy bang bang chilli sauce, they become completely irresistible. Perfect as a side with dinner, a juicy burger, pita, sandwich or a good steak. They also work beautifully as a snack or starter when you want to serve something simple but delicious.
They are very easy to make with frozen beans, so you skip all the prep.

Tips for the best green bean fries

Use frozen beans – they don’t need to be pre-cooked and can go straight from the freezer into the oven or air fryer.
Season the beans before cooking – besides salt, try paprika, garlic powder, chilli flakes or Parmesan.
Serve them straight away – they are at their very best freshly cooked and crisp.
Use them as a side – they go perfectly with burgers, pita, sandwiches, steak or simply as a snack with a dip.

Method

  • Tip the frozen green beans onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  • Drizzle over the oil, season with salt and any other spices you like, and toss well with your hands.
  • Spread the beans out on the tray so they are not piled too much on top of each other, and bake in a preheated fan oven at 210°C for about 30 minutes.
Turn them 2-3 times along the way. Some will turn completely crisp, others will stay slightly soft – that is exactly how they should be.
  • Meanwhile, stir together the ingredients for the chilli sauce.
  • Top the warm bean fries with the chilli sauce and sprinkle with parsley, if you like.
