Piren Råå

Even though the weather wasn’t at its best, lunch at Piren Råå turned out to be a lovely experience. We sat indoors – and that was actually a plus. The restaurant has a warm, stylish interior where you immediately feel at ease. Wood, textiles and a view over the pier create a calm and inviting atmosphere.

Piren sits at the very end of the pier in Råå Harbour, and although we didn’t sit outside this time, it’s easy to imagine how wonderful it must be on a sunny day. The staff were friendly and attentive from the start, and the whole thing felt both relaxed and professional.

We started with a few snacks: olives, cheese and crisps – simple servings, but well made and full of flavour. I chose an Asian salad as my main, and it hit the mark with its fresh flavours, crunchy elements and well-balanced dressing.

Jes had the porchetta – and it was the highlight. Tender, juicy meat with crisp skin and plenty of flavour. A dish that lifted the lunch both visually and in taste. We shared a portion of chips on the side, and it was all washed down with two glasses of chilled white wine.

For dessert we had chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream and a classic Cocio chocolate milk. Simple, but a perfect way to finish.

The place is clearly busy and popular, and on their website we saw that they also host live music and events during the season – though not on the day we were there. Still, it’s worth keeping an eye on next time we plan a visit.
