We started with a few Italian snacks, which suited lunch and our choice of wine perfectly:
Arancini with courgette on a mild, creamy tomato sauce – a real favourite, and it actually inspired me to make my own version. Here is the link to my own arancini recipes 🧡
Focaccia with whipped ricotta and beautifully sliced Serrano – simple, delicate and wonderfully flavourful.
And then came the king of pasta experiences.
Truffle pasta – made at the table with fire and cheese
I had seen the video on Instagram and knew this was a must. The pasta – made by two brothers from Copenhagen, with nothing but flour and water – is prepared at the table on a trolley, with cheese, fire and truffle in the leading roles. It was not just delicious, it was an experience.
First the waiter flambés 60% spirit, which is poured into the hollowed-out Pecorino wheel. The cheese melts slowly, and then the pasta is tossed in the warm cheese – everything is scraped, melted and smells heavenly. Finally, a generous handful of freshly shaved truffle on top. There you go.
It was the best truffle pasta I have had in a long time – and a huge recommendation! Remember, it has to be ordered for at least two people.

The wine – Chiarandà from Donnafugata
With the food we chose a bottle of Italian Chardonnay:
Chiarandà 2022 – Donnafugata from Sicily.
It is made from Chardonnay grapes from Contessa Entellina DOC, and had exactly the right balance for both the snacks and the pasta – soft, elegant, with plenty of body and a citrus character. It paired perfectly with both the ricotta and the buttery cheese sauce in the pasta.
A look at the menu
The menu at Donna is full of classic Italian dishes, lifted with modern finesse and a love of good ingredients. You will find everything from snacks such as olives, focaccia and prosciutto to antipasti with burrata, carpaccio and Vitello Tonnato.
In the pasta section there are classics such as:
Rigatoni alla Vodka
Pappardelle al Ragu
Spaghetti al Tartufo (tableside service – DKK 235 per person)
There are also secondi of fish and meat – for example:
Pollo al Marsala – chicken breast with mushrooms and Marsala
Filetti di Mare – fish with saffron sauce and fennel
The pizzas are a strong option too – including Salame Cremona, Prosciutto & Burrata and a thoroughly classic Margherita.
Finally, there are lovely sides such as grilled broccoli and tomato salad – and dolci such as tiramisu, panna cotta and a delicious chocolate and lavender cake.
Prices typically range between DKK 125–235 per dish, and you can put together both a light lunch and a full Italian dinner without feeling short-changed.
The price – worth every bit
We paid DKK 1,800 for lunch, and it was worth every krone. You get a complete experience – visually, gastronomically and in terms of service. Donna is part of the Cofoco group, but it feels very personal and unique.
