An Unforgettable Weekend of Gourmet Dining at Salt Restaurant
Admiral Hotel – a historic gem with modern comfort
Admiral Hotel is a true gem in the heart of Copenhagen, right on the waterfront and uniquely housed in a listed building from 1787 that originally served as a warehouse. The hotel’s interior is a beautiful blend of raw, historic detail and modern comfort, creating a charming and relaxed atmosphere. You are enveloped by the rustic timber beams, the warm tones and the classic style, which suit the maritime feel that runs through the whole hotel perfectly.
We stayed in a room called The Loft – a really lovely room on two floors, with a living room on the lower level and a bedroom upstairs. The comfort was first-rate, and the room was cosily and stylishly furnished, with a wonderful view over the water.
The sofa on the lower floor was turned into a sofa bed at night, but could easily be folded away again during the day so we could enjoy the space in the room. It made the room feel large and spacious – perfect for a cosy family trip.
After a lovely day at Admiral Hotel, we rounded things off with a wonderful dinner at Restaurant Salt, set within the hotel’s beautiful surroundings. Here you can read more about our experience at the restaurant and see photos from the evening.

Salt Restaurant – A Dining Experience Out of the Ordinary
Dinner at Salt Restaurant was an absolute highlight of our trip. Salt offers a wonderful six-course menu, with the option of adding either one of their two wine pairings or a juice pairing. We chose the wine pairing, and it matched the dishes perfectly – each wine brought out the flavours of the individual courses and created a fantastic overall experience.
The food was nothing short of sublime. A fine balance of flavours and textures, playing with both the classic and the modern. The presentation was beautiful and simple, and the quality of the ingredients shone through clearly.
We sat in the loveliest surroundings, with a cosy, relaxed mood and a delightful atmosphere. Salt manages to create a space where you can enjoy a formal dinner and still feel relaxed and at home.
The service was equally first-rate – relaxed, welcoming and at the same time highly professional. The staff were wonderfully attentive in guiding us through the menu, explaining each dish and wine in a way that was informative yet easy to follow. It made for an experience where you truly felt spoilt and in good hands. A huge recommendation from us – Salt is well worth a visit!
