A genuinely cosy restaurant, with a wonderful courtyard for outdoor dining when the weather allows.

The menu changes once a month, and there is always a three-course menu built around the season’s produce – with a choice of fish or meat for the main course.

A visit to Fransisco is always a pleasure, in summer and winter alike. We love sitting outside in the courtyard garden, but the restaurant itself is so warm and inviting that when the season rules out outdoor dining, sitting indoors is no hardship at all.

The service is excellent, and weekends are often lively and full of good cheer.

That is because there is a bar beneath the restaurant – and it, too, is well frequented at weekends.

It is not a bar you notice while you are eating, but head down the spiral staircase to the cellar and you are greeted by a wonderfully snug, softly lit bar with delicious cocktails and a lovely atmosphere.
