Sitting at home in your own familiar surroundings makes for a very special experience – especially when you are being served the most extraordinary food at the same time.

At the beginning of February we had the pleasure of having Simon from Den Røde Cottage come out and serve their Prestige menu for us.
We had gathered a group of friends – the mood was set, and Simon took care of the most delicious menu, wines included.

From start to finish we were spoilt with the most flavourful dishes – everyone was completely blown away.
We started with an assortment of snacks – Gillardeau oysters with caviar, crisp tartlets with tartare, æbleskiver (Danish pancake balls) with guinea fowl and truffle, and crisp potato with langoustine.

The next course was Danish lobster with beurre blanc – without comparison one of the most delicious dishes and the best beurre blanc I have ever tasted.
Luckily Simon put extra sauce on the table – and the bowls were emptied.

Then came pan-fried turbot – another favourite, served with mussel sauce and caviar. Thoroughly delicious flavours, and so beautifully presented.

The main course was a piece of tender, juicy dry-aged beef served with beetroot and truffle.

The dessert was fresh with blackcurrant, yet with the richest depth from chocolate and hazelnuts.

And with coffee we had the finest petits fours – or rather, we actually ate them the next day, because by then the group of friends had moved on from the coffee stage and were ready for Espresso Martinis

What a party it turned out to be

Simon was fantastic to have in the kitchen – hugely engaged and professional, but in a relaxed and completely down-to-earth way.

Fantastic food served in the most beautiful presentations, and service beyond the ordinary.

A huge recommendation from us, and now I am looking forward even more to visiting their restaurant one day – hopefully over the summer.
