1shop-bought mazarin tart (Danish marzipan cake with a chocolate top)
4salted pretzel sticks, preferably thick
2tbspthick icing
Small chocolate balls, hearts or stars and/or gold flakes
Instructions
Cut the cake into 8 equal pieces. I warm the knife blade with a little boiling water, wipe it dry and then cut the cake – that way the chocolate does not crack.
Break the pretzel sticks into shorter pieces and push one piece into each Christmas tree, so it looks like a trunk.
Mix a thick icing – you only need a very small amount. If you like, stir a pinch of edible glitter into the icing, then spoon it into a piping bag.
Now pipe the trees. You may want to start with half of them so the icing does not set before you decorate, and decorate the Christmas trees with small chocolate balls, hearts, stars or whatever you prefer.
Serve the easiest cake there is – one the children will love decorating too – and merry Christmas.
